naughty & nice ♥
Sorry for going MIA for a couple days. we were experiencing some computer troubles which we THOUGHT were related to the monitor or the power cable for the monitor. But, turned out to be the computer. Tuesday morning the computer shut down and would not turn back on. We got it to our tech immediately, though as the only local computer shop in town there were several computers that had to be serviced before they could look at ours. The motherboard was fried, so now we have a "new" computer. It's refurbished, so not totally new, but new to us and with pretty much all new parts (all the important stuff is new) so it shall be a good, reliable computer. We got a new keyboard, mouse and speakers too. We do still want a new monitor, but that will have to wait a while for now.
Anyway. I was paranoid that I may have lost some files (ok, a lot of them!) because Monday night I was thinking abuot transferring a bunch of files to the external, but I didn't do it and figured it'd wait until the next morning. Heh. Go figure. But thankfully the hard drive was still accessible, so the tech was able to get all the files and put on the new computer for me.
My sister and I have discussed numerous times over the past few months our frustrations over making videos for youtube. She made some 'how to' knitting videos and I made a couple for crochet. And now we both get comments and messages asking all kinds of questions and requesting certain patterns/stitches/items etc. Neither of us want to do anything else with it; it takes too much time, we have other more important things we need to do in a day. Not to mention how difficult it is to knit or crochet with a camera in front of your hands so that your hands can be in frame, the lighting has to be JUST right (we do not have cam corders, we only use the video feature on our still cameras) and it's really just a hassle honestly. I mean... I am glad my videos have helped some people out but... I'm not a crochet know-it-all or librbary or something. I don't have time to sit all day making videos for people when they ask me to. I have not even signed into my account for some time because I just don't want people to see my account as "active" because that brings on more comments and requests. Sometimes I just want to scream "Go to the library!" at the people who are sending me messages requesting things! There are countless websites and other very good videos on youtube to show how to do absolutely everything in crochet (or knitting) possible... I just don't like people expecting things of me, and neither does my sister. I'm thinking of making a new youtube account strictly for watching videos and such, but which will never have videos posted to it other than maybe some private ones just for friends to watch.
Well anyway I have got a LOT of catching up to do with my email and on some other sites; I'm sad that on Facebook I have virtual fish tanks and farms that will all have dead fish and crops when I log back in. *sigh* Oh but such is the unpredictable world of computers.
